“She only reveals what she wants you to see”
Life is messy and I love how the Universe teaches you the lessons you need to learn in a very practical and fascinating way.
Friends and people I work with tell me that they admire how brave and bold I am with my choices.
My ability to leave behind certainty and take the leap of faith is something that makes me look strong from the outside, almost like nothing could hurt or break me.
In this post I would like to shine some light on the “dark” side of the Positively Charged girl and show how I learnt to embrace venerability.
Leaning to the discomfort and tell the story of who you really are, with your whole heart puts you in a very exposed position, where fear of judgment is unavoidable.
Admitting that you are not perfect, that there is a side of you that is not all that pretty and perhaps not worthy of admiration it is a very challenging practice.
So what do we do instead?
We numb ourselves with food, additions, distractions, illusion of certainty and pretend we have all figured out.
We do not want to feel pain, we do not want to feel fear, we do not want to be uncomfortable, we do not want to feel insecure.
The irony is when you block these feelings you are also blocking the possibility of experience pure joy, genuine happiness and true love - as contradictory as it sounds…
So lets me try to explain it better.
- You are not a robot
When you allow yourself to be seen, you are showing your human nature to the world and that is the fundamental ingredient for authentic connections.
If you can’t be compassionate towards people and empathetic, you are no better than a robot and Pepper would be nicer company to be around than your frozen heart.
One important caveat here, authentic compassion comes from a place of being kind to yourself first, managing the internal dialogue as we can’t treat others with kindness if we are not able to be gentle with ourselves.
2. What makes you vulnerable makes you beautiful
I know, it’s not a comfortable place to be to say I love you first, to shameless admit failure, to embrace imperfection, but that is the only place to stand to connect to your core.
The willingness to do something where there’s no guarantees opens yourself to unlimited possibilities - which comes with a special disclosure: it can take you to an emotional breakdown or a spiritual awakening.
Either one you chose, it will make you a better human, so go for it!
Vulnerability brings you of love and creativity. Once you realise it (it might take few years!), you surrender and walk through life with tenderness.
“Love isn’t really love until it’s vulnerable”
And the most important takeaway of this post:
Connection is why we are here, its our purpose and meaning of life.
