Before answering the question above we need to understand what it actually means. Are you fulfilling your dreams? Pursuing your passion? Do you have a purpose? All these questions are so overwhelming and sometimes bring us more anxiety than clarity…
I like to think that living on the right path is to be in alignment with your true self. Which again, sorry, I know is a quite abstract concept, specially when we live in a society crowded with pressure, empty of true values and no time for reflexion and genuine connection. How could we value our intuition in such rational and material world?
If you are stuck in a job, trapped in a relationship and feel like you have lost the ability to hear your inner voice. Or even if you are frustrated because you are not developing your skills and talents to live a happy life, here are five things that hopefully will help you navigating your own path:
#1: Let the success of others ignite your own success
A lot of people resent and are jealous of other people’s life. But honestly, you already know that this negative thought process does not serve you or bring you any good, actually it just makes you even more miserable.
So, my suggestion is to try a different approach and practice being more humble and kind. Watch how they did, learn their lessons, let their incredible energy inspire you. Then take the power back to you, do not think they are Super-Beings, instead see it as if they can do it you can do it too! (YES, YOU CAN)
Dedicate time to pursue what you love and you will be the next one people will be watching.
#2 Trust your gut and do not let the opinion of others shake you
Only you have the answer of what is better for you and what brings you happiness. Once you are in a place you have nurtured your passion, the confidence inside of you will grow and nothing will be able to stop you.
Sometimes even people with good intentions might think you are crazy and will try to bring you down to their boring reality. Most time, they are also the ones who have not fulfilled their dreams and are not truly happy. They are basically projecting their frustrations and fears on you. If they are not in a place in life they want to be, they also feel uncomfortable around the ones who have the courage to try to break the cycle.
Surround yourself with unconventionally awesome people, who see the good inside of you and are there to cheer you up along the way.
#3 Celebrate the emptiness inside of you
I know that is a weird one as there is nothing blissful about being depressed, but I am here to offer you a new perspective in feeling something is lacking inside of you.
This aching feeling is your heart shouting out and crying out loud for help! So please do not ignore it, your heart looks after you 24/7, never takes a break, so be nice and listen to it.
If you did not feel sad you would go through life happily wasting your potentialaway, and that my friend, is really sad.
The number one thing to do here is to not mask sadness with addiction. It can be a toxic relationship with a person, work, alcohol, food, you name it ( we all have our mysterious ways of numbing ourselves, don’t we? Mine comes in form of natural sugars…). The key is to get real with your pain. Try to make friends with it ;-)
It’s an inside job to ask yourself what could you be doing more to freely express yourself, get closer to where you want to be and take baby steps towards it. Numbing your feelings are not going tohelp in along term, just dig a bigger hole.
In a nut shell get to the core of that emptiness and fill it with happiness
#4 Let your life be the centre of your attention
Focus in what is important to you, concentrate in what will make difference in your life, that way you will free space for creativity and ideas to flow. Do not block your channels with distractions.
Stay inside yourself and do not drain your attention spending hours reading the Daily Mail, watching crap TV or scrolling through Instagram. Remember the “grass is always greener where you water it”.
#5 Retire your Master Excuses Degree
We are all guilty of coming up with reasons why not or why we can’t do something. As a result it only brings more emptiness inside of us.
Focus on potential, possibility, and solutions. Replace can’t with what CAN I do now?
Even super successful people had these self-doubting moments but they keep listening to their heart and trusted themselves. They also have been trying for longer than you, had the discipline and commitment to make it happen.
Not being in the right path does not make you a worse or a better person than anyone. The truth is that it is a constant and never ending journey for all of us. We just need to connect ourself with our inner-self and keep smiling through the ups and downs of this epic journey.
Remember: you are where you meant to be now, so keep moving forward.
NB: You have everything you need inside of you, just start listening your heart
